It's That Time of Year: The 16th Annual 5K Family Fun Run/Walk

The Annual 5K Run/Walk is right around the corner on April 9 and organizers are preparing for a great turnout. Starting at the high school at 60 Robinson Road, registration is from 7 to 7:45 a.m. The Fun Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. Dress comfortably and wear your best sneakers!

Last year's 5K raised $3,400 according to PTSO volunteer Luanne Kerrigan.

The scenic course along the Baltimore Annapolis Trail will be well-marked with course monitors along the route.

The awards ceremony for runners will be at 9 a.m.

There will be refreshments for all finishers and prizes (for runners only) awarded to first-place finishers in the men and woman's open division.  

Prizes will also be awarded to male and females ages 10 and under and also ages 11-15,16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65 and age 66 up.

Register early online at www.active.com or by mail with checks made payable to SPHS PTSO, postmarked by April 1, 2011. Sorry no refunds. Families must register by mail, SPHS, PTSO, 60 Robinson Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.

The race fee is $20 with a T-shirt and $70 for family with T-shirts.   

If you wait to register on race day, the cost is $25 no T-shirt and for family on race day is $80 no T-shirts.
