Chimney Fire in Severna Park

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to a chimney fire Wednesday on La Crosse Avenue.

A chimney fire in the 800 block of La Crosse Avenue off of Baldy Avenue in Severna Park had part of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard shut down for a short period on Wednesday, authorities said.

The call came in at about 2:15 p.m. for heavy smoke from a chimney, said Lt. Keith Hamilton, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman. Firefighters had the blaze, which extended to the attic, under control in 25 minutes, he said.

There is no damage estimate at this time, Hamilton said.
