Flood Warning for Severna Park and Surrounding Area

Weather reports indicate possible flood conditions with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected.

4:45 p.m. Update: According to a police traffic advisory, several lanes on the Severn River bridge westbound are flooded by heavy rains. The report included that there may be a pregnant woman in labor stuck in traffic on the bridge.

According to accuweather.com as of this afternoon, a flood watch is in effect until midnight Sunday for portions of central Maryland, the Baltimore Washington area and northern Virginia.

Expect moderate to heavy rainfall this afternoon continuing into early evening with totals of 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Locally, higher amounts are possible and could cause small streams and creeks to rise out of the banks.
