Severn River Animal Hospital Opens

Ribbon-cutting by Greater Severna Park Chamber on Friday draws well-wishers.

The Severn River Animal Hospital officially opened on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that brought friends and a few four-legged friends -  along with business people and community leaders to the location at 590 Benfield Road.

The waiting area was crowded with well-wishers who came to congratulate veterinarian Dr. Lee Lianides, DVM,  who purchased the business on Dec. 31, 2010 from Dr. Stacey Rine, DVM. The facility is staffed with 10 employees, including the 18-year-old house cat Flick who naps in the x-ray room.

Lianides, originally from Massachusetts, lives in Annapolis and graduated from Tufts University in 1999. Her background includes working at animal hospitals throughout Maryland. She chose Severna Park for her location because of the "wonderful pet owners that take such good care of their animals," Lianides said.
