Fill Your Carts for a Cure at Giant Food in Severna Park

Giant Food stores go pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

of Severna Park joins other locations in going pink this month in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Giant is celebrating its 75th anniversary and has launched a chain-wide promotion titled “Buy, Get, Give” to breast cancer-related organizations for customers in their local community, according to a news announcement.

According to the press release, when customers buy select items from Proctor & Gamble, General Mills, Giant Food Own Brands and other participating vendors throughout the month, they will receive a reward such as a $10 prepaid Visa card or money off of your grocery order. Giant and the accompanying vendor partner will make a donation to a local organization that supports breast cancer research, education, and awareness. 

“Giant is proud to paint our stores pink and support breast cancer organizations making a difference in our community,” said Anthony Hucker, president, Giant Food of Landover, MD in a press release.

In addition, Giant will donate 5 cents of every pink reusable bag sold during the month to the Capital Breast Care Center and the floral department will make a 25 cent donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the sale of each pink awareness and hope & strength bouquet.  Also, Giant pharmacies are handing out breast self-examination brochures to customers.
