Volunteer on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Severna Park residents looking to volunteer on Monday have quite a few options through the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County.

Looking for a place to volunteer with your family on Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County is working with the Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis to coordinate volunteer efforts around the region Monday (Jan. 16), a national day of service. 

The event, Everyone Can Serve: MLK Day in Annapolis, is one of thousands of projects taking place across the nation on the holiday, according to a press release.

The Volunteer Center is looking for families or individuals to donate their time and efforts for multiple nonprofit organizations.

Children age 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

According to the press release, the projects will benefit the following nonprofit groups:

There are two time slots available for volunteering—from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1-2:30 p.m.
