Decorate Your Bikes for July Fourth Parade

Severna Park children are invited to decorate their bikes for the annual bike decorating contest, part of the Fourth of July parade.

The is once again holding a decorated bike contest as a part of the annual .

The contest is designed for the younger Severna Park residents to give children the opportunity to be patriotic when decorating their bikes, tricycles and wagons, said Linda Zahn, CEO of the Chamber in an email to Patch.

Prizes are compliments of Rod Reddish of , Jeff Franklin of , and Annette Drew of .

On parade day, bike registration is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the chamber office at 1 Holly Ave. (at the intersection of Riggs and Holly Avenues). The children will enter the parade at the intersection of Holly and Riggs Avenues as a group.

Older children enter first and the youngest enter last, Zahn said. 

The bikes turn right from Holly Avenue onto B&A Boulevard and then proceed to a holding area at the property. Parents are asked to accompany their children, or be on hand at Sunrise to pick them up, as they complete the parade route.

Prizes will be presented at the Cypress Creek festival following the parade. 

For older children and adults who want to bike in the parade, consider joining the “Bike Brigade” sponsored by and . This group will meet on the front lawn of the church during registration from 9 to 9:30 a.m.

The parade begins promptly at 10 a.m.
