BWMC's Heartbeat for Health Coming Soon

Take advantage of learning new dances and free BWMC health screenings at the Severna Park Community Center.

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) is sponsoring Heartbeat for Health from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the .

The public is invited to attend this free and informative event that celebrates the benefits of dance and exercise in the prevention of heart disease, while reinforcing community awareness and education about overall health and wellness.

Featured will be country-line dancing, belly dancing, hip-hop, and Zumba demonstrations presented by local dance studios. There will also be exercise demonstrations, including yoga and resistance training offered by area fitness experts. Participants will have an opportunity to try each dance style and exercise.

            Health screenings including cholesterol, bone density, foot, blood pressure, and educational displays for smoking cessation and heart health will be offered. Refreshments and promotional items will also be available. Cooking demonstrations and healthy snack sampling will be offered by Deliciously Nutritious. Registration is not required.
