No More Kentucky Fried in Severna Park

Eatery closed for good on Sunday.

The Colonel has left town - Colonel Sanders that is. The founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has vacated the premises on Ritchie Highway.

First it was breakfast (and lunch) , with the closing of Atlanta Bread Co. in late May, followed by Wrap & Brew in early June, now there's no more fried chicken since  KFC closed on Sunday.

Employees were tossing equipment and trash into a dumpster parked in the drive-through on Tuesday. Patch was told by a staffer that all employees had been reassigned to other restaurants.

Did you frequent the KFC in SP? Do we need a fried chicken joint in the park? Tell us in the comments.

too bad.......I would drive to SP KFC rather than face the one in Pasadena...We didn't go there often but they always had great service.

Wow.... the food business is a fickle one.... I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it did since I only went there a few times in the 16 years I've lived here.

Does anyone know what will be put in its place? To be honest, I'm really glad that KFC and Popeyes are gone. I can see how neither of those restaurants really had a market in Severna Park. Now they need to put a Panera in where the Atlanta Bread was and a Chick-fil-a where KFC used to be!!

I think Chick-fil-a would be great where KFC was - there is a need for chicken in SP - and we always went to both Popeyes (for red beans and rice) and KFC for mac and cheese ONLY - either for chicken. ABC was doing fine but then it looked run-down having just opened not that long before. Panera in Pasadena is always busy so lets have one here too! I think SP folks would love it. Halleluiah for the STARBUCKS and late hours! Einsteins just couldnt get the hours right.

I heard an adult sex shop, apparel and movies type of operation was going in. Anyone else hear about it?
