Fleet Feet Offers Shoe Comfort in Severna Park

If you're feet are aching, Severna Park's newest running store Fleet Feet Sports may be able to help.

Fleet Feet opened at 500D Ritchie Highway on Oct. 4, and manager Pete Goetsch said the store and its staff have everything you need to keep your feet comfy while you're running.

"Here you'll get personal attention, and we work one-on-one with each customer," Goetsch said. "We have one-on-one shoe fittings as well."

At Fleet Feet you aren't just getting fitted for a shoe, your making sure the shoe fits you.

"We are looking at the function of the foot so we can match a shoe with a foot. Not all shoes are created equal," Goetsch said.

The store also offers inserts for shoes, which Goetsch said is a very important process. The inserts work to reduce motion in the foot and help prevent injuries.

With a location already in Annapolis, Fleet Feet is on its way to helping local runners around the county. In fact, it's first training program "Make it a Mile" had 40 participates before the store even opened.

Fleet Feet also hosts weekly runs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and 8 a.m. on Saturdays. Runners are paired up with others who are working towards the same distance and pace. They then run together along the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail. 

When Fleet Feet isn't making your feet comfortable, it can also provide clothing and apparel for running, including custom-fitted sports bras for women. Employees were being trained for the sport bra fittings on Tuesday.

Goetsch said that at Fleet Feet, customers are getting more than a store—they're getting an experience.

"We're really a resource center," Goetsch said. "You can just come in to talk and we're happy to help. We have a little bit of everything."

Fleet Feet in Severna Park is located at 500D Ritchie Highway, in the former Floors by Design location.
