Dan is a director/writer/producer/teacher born and raised in Severna Park, MD. Dan's love of filmmaking blossomed with the media productions class at Severna Park High School. By the time Dan left SPHS in 2004, the film program had grown much larger due to his constant activity with the program.

Dan continued onward to the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he majored in Film/Video production. There, Dan created the first student-run television program Hey U! and led it to two successful seasons.

Dan then transferred to New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in 2006 to major in Film/Television production. Under the tutelage of some of the most knowledgeable professors in the country, Dan created a number of short films, including his first big production, the film Optional Ingredients. Dan recently submitted his film to Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, as of this writing, it has already screened at the NewFilmmakers Film Festival in New York City.

Dan then spent a summer in Nice, France, where he shot a number of shorts that incorporated CGI and other 3D animated figures. The local newspapers got wind of the artwork being created and held an open exhibition of his work. In his final year at NYU, Dan set out to create his thesis film, An Old Hope which has been widely praised and showcased in a number of festivals up and down the coast.

Dan returned to Maryland with the production of the Empty Seat PSA, a public service announcement meant to deal with prevention and awareness of teen suicide in the community. He now teaches film production classes at Severn School while still actively producing video content of all types.
