Cathy Vitale is currently a member of the House of Delegates having been elected in 2010 to represent District 33A (Crofton, Crownsville, Gambrills, Severna Park and parts of Millersville, Odenton and Davidsonville).  She was appointed to the Enviornmental Matters Committee and the Land Use and Ethics Subcommittees. 

In her first year as a delegate, Cathy was successful in having two of her legislative initiatives passed into law.  Prior to being elected to the House of Delegates, Cathy served for 11 years on the Anne Arundel County Council representing Severna Park, Arnold and Broadneck. 

He current term has been focusing on issues such as the ban of synthetic marijuana.  A growing concern, synthetic marijuana (a compund with an asetone base and in many circumstances, lethal to its users) has seen a 300% increase in users between the ages of 13 and 16.

During that time she served as the Chairman of the Council, a commissioner on the Chesapeake Critical Area Commission and numerous other governmental boards. 

In January of 2013, Cathy opened her own law practice, the Law Offices of Cathleen M. Vitale in Glen Burnie, servicing clients in Anne Arundel, Howard and Baltimore County.  She practices in the areas of civil litigation, domestic and land use as well as a variety of District Court matters.  Additionally, she is a certified civil mediator handling matters involving custody, visitation and property distribution.

Prior to that time she was a senior member of the Law Offices of Henault & Sysko Chartered in Glen Burnie, Maryland where she practices in the areas of civil litigation, domestic and land use.  Additionally, she is a certified civil mediator handling matters involving custody, visitation and property distribution.  Cathy has been practicing law since 1989.
