The Severna Park Republican Women's Club knits wool helmet liners, sends big Christmas stockings overseas.
One big Christmas order filled. check. Happy and now warmer soldiers. check. Thanks to the Severna Park Women's Republican Club, over 140 over-sized Christmas stockings filled with handmade knitted wool helmet liners and other items- from books to toiletries and snacks- have landed overseas where a Maryland National Guard helicopter unit from Aberdeen Proving Grounds is deployed in Afghanistan. The first point of contact for the club was Army Maj. David Magness, stationed at Camp Marmal, a NATO base.
