Local Doctor Named Young Optometrist of the Year
Dr. Kevin Johnson of Peepers in Severna Park received the award for his leadership and volunteer work.
From the moment Dr. Kevin Johnson put on his first eyeglasses as a kid he knew he wanted to be an optometrist. “I was honestly inspired by my first eye exam as a child,” Johnson said. “I put the glasses on and was like ‘oh my gosh I can see the leaves instead of a green blur.’ I thought it was fun you could go to the eye doctor and see immediate results.” That inspiration led Johnson to a career in eye care and the Maryland Optometric Association (MOA) recently named Johnson, who is an eye doctor at Peepers of Severna Park, Young Optometrist of the Year.
