The snow was a little late for a white Christmas and didn't last very long, but some areas of Severna Park saw some flakes Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Anne Arundel County on Wednesday as snow turned to hail and rain. According to WBAL, numerous accidents were reported throughout the day in Maryland, and the roads will continue to be icy into the evening hours. It wasn't a white Christmas, but snow started falling around Anne Arundel County on Wednesday. Severna Park, as well as the county, is under a winter weather advisory issued from the National Weather Service (NWS) until 1 p.m. "A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties," according to the release. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities." NWS stated that people should expect a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. The National Weather Service is forecasting light snow, sleet and possibly freezing rain starting this evening and warns of hazardous driving conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain beginning at 11 p.m. Friday and continuing to about 1 a.m. Saturday. The precipitation is expected to begin as snow and sleet with a light coating of up to one inch of snow in certain areas before changing to freezing rain and then rain overnight before ending later Saturday, according to the weather service. The temperatures Friday evening should be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The highs on Saturday are forecasted to be in the upper 30s and lower 40s with winds of about 5 to 10 mph.
