The Severna Park High School boys soccer team will play in the Class 4A state championship game on Friday evening.
After defeating Northwestern 2-1 on Saturday night, the Severna Park High School boys soccer team is headed to the Class 4A state championship game. According to The Capital Gazette, Tim Nelson scored his second goal of the season to help lead the Falcons to a 2-1 victory over Prince George's County foe Northwestern on Friday night in Rockville. The victory put Severna Park in the state final, which will be played at 5 p.m. on Friday night at UMBC. The Falcons will take on Montgomery County team Wootton High School. Wootton enters the state final with a record of 16-1-1. Severna Park (18-1) also has one loss, which came to North County in the county championship game. The Severna Park High School boys soccer teams needs just one more win to earn a spot in the Class 4A state championship game. The Falcons will play Prince George’s County team Northwestern in the state semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville. A victory in that game will put the team in the state championship game. Severna Park finished the regular season with an undefeated record but fell to North County in the County Championship. The Falcons enter Saturday’s game with a record of 17-1.
