Paper Trousseau Moves to New Location

The store known for stationery has moved to a new location in Severna Park.

Paper Trousseau in Severna Park has moved to a new location across town citing the need for a smaller space. The store well-known for its stationery products has moved from its location on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard to a new home on Evergreen Road—the former location of Maine Cottage. “We recently announced that we were phasing out some of our retail and in doing that we didn’t need as much space as we had,” said owner Tammi Molavi. “When we found out this space was available we were very excited.” Molavi stressed that the store is not getting rid of any of its stationery and invitation items, only some of the gift items it previously carried. PHOTO: Tissue Paper Wedding Dress

This unique window display at the Paper Trousseau in Severna Park is attracting quite a bit of attention from passersby and customers.

Christine Sappington said she felt like “Edward Scissorhands” while she was making a wedding dress—out of (mostly) recycled tissue paper. The manager of the Paper Trousseau in Severna Park created what looks like the real deal in about an hour. "It's the first time I've ever done a dress," said Sappington, the longtime window display merchandiser. The dress stands in the shop window as a centerpiece to highlight the fine line of wedding invitations available in the store. "It's one of the favorite things I've ever done," she said. The mannequin in the window is wearing ivory tissue, most of which came as packaging with the invitations the store carries. The creation resembles a "real" wedding dress. More Unique Gifts to Buy in Severna Park

Patch will be featuring gifts found in Severna Park stores to help you be a standout shopper this season.

  The seventh and eighth unique gifts were found by Severna Park Patch Calendar Editor Tammy Turner who spotted two handmade accessories at the Paper Trousseau on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. A decorated hand-felted wool cell phone holder is $15 and pretty hand-felted wool flower pins (that also have a clip on the back) cost $35. These are handcrafted locally by jillybean designs.
