VIDEO: O's Fans Say 'We Knew We Would Be Here'

Two Orioles season ticket holders tell the tale of a 15-year wait.

Debbie Dwyer and Rosie Cassidy have been patiently waiting. When the Rockville residents purchased an Orioles season-ticket plan 15 years ago, they were making an investment in the future.  They knew someday it would pay off. Little did they know it would be 15 years. And little did they know in spring training that it would be this year. Patch caught up with Dwyer and Cassidy in their sweet seats before Game 2 of the American League Division Series. They normally sit on the first base side, so they were adjusting to their new digs, but you can see in the video how thrilled they were to be at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to experience the club's first playoff series since 1997. The Orioles and Yankees met in Game 3 Wednesday night. TELL US…

VIDEO: Playoff Baseball Rocks Camden Yards

Fans braved the chill for the Orioles' return to the postseason after a 15-year hiatus. They walked away disappointed after the O's lost 7-2 to the New York Yankees.

Playoff baseball returned to Oriole Park at Camden Yards Sunday night, and a sellout crowd did not let a little rain dampen the enthusiasm. After waiting out a two-and-a-half hour delay, fans settled in for the first postseason game in Baltimore since 1997.  The first game of the American League Division Series ended with a disappointing 7-2 loss to the New York Yankees.  Game Two of the ALDS is Monday at 8:37 p.m.

VIDEO: Mark Teixeira Talks About Playing Against the Orioles

The Yankees' first basemen says he's OK with being booed by fans in Baltimore and beyond.

When the New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira comes home to Maryland there are two things he expects: a G&M crab cake and to get booed by Orioles fans. The Severna Park native says it comes with the territory with being a New York Yankee, although these days Teixeria says he's starting to appreciate more the "sports fanatic" that has come alive in most dormant O's fans. Watch the video to see more about what Teixeira thinks about coming home. Teixeira got his start in baseball while attending Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, where he returned Friday for his favorite teacher's birthday. Teixeira, the Commissioner of Patch Baseball, spoke to an honors Latin class—a class that the school's principal Barry Fitzpatrick said …

I couldn't have said it better myself. Why do they call him "Tex"? He's not from Texas. And it's TEIX-eira, not TEX-eira.   more ›

Video: Baseball's Mark Teixeira Talks About his Hometown Severna Park

Staying in touch with his hometown local news is important to this Yankee first baseman.

He may be a famous baseball player, but Mark Teixeira hasn't forgotten his roots and where he got his start on the baseball diamond. This New York Yankee keeps tabs on what's happening in his hometown by visiting the Severna Park Patch. Although he hails originally from Severna Park, he now calls Greenwich, CT home. Teixeira is three-time Golden Glove award-winner. He stopped by a Patch event in New York City, where he let everyone know he visits both the Severna Park Patch and Greenwich Patch to keep up with hometown news at both sites. Teixeira agreed to talk about his fondness for Severna Park and his favorite rec sports team, the Green Hornets, on a video, check it out!

Yankee Mark Teixeira Keeps Tabs on Hometown via Severna Park Patch

The baseball great has a new home, but keeps in touch with his roots in Maryland.

Yankee first baseman Mark Teixeira was featured on Severna Park Patch back in April when he was back "home" for a series of games at Camden Yards at Oriole Park in Baltimore. Teixeria was recognized by President Obama when the Yankees visited the White House last year in recognition of their World Series title in 2009. The Severna Park native, a three-time Golden Glove award-winner, currently lives in Greenwich, CT with his family. On Thursday night, he stopped by a Patch event in New York, where he let everyone know he is a big fan of both Severna Park Patch and Greenwich Patch to keep up with both hometown and local news.
