SPHS Student Stars in 'Legally Blonde'
Austin Heemstra, of Severna Park High School plays Emmett Forrest in the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis' production of "Legally Blonde: The Musical."
Severna Park High School’s Austin Heemstra will play a lead role in the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis' production of Legally Blonde: The Musical in January. Heemstra recently gave a tremendous performance as Jean Valjean in Severna Park High’s production of Les Misérables. And he will now take the stage for the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis in Broadneck. Broadneck High School sophomore Colleen Coleman of Arnold stars as Woods, and Heemstra plays Emmett Forrest in the student-led musical, which debuts locally on Jan. 11. The musical incarnation of the 2001 film tells the story of strong-willed sorority girl Elle Woods, who follows her college sweetheart—who has just dumped her—to Harvard Law School.
