Breakfast Shoppe Honors Taylor Wild with Fundraiser

From now until Memorial Day, the Severna Park restaurant will raise money for Friends of the Fallen.

The day before Lance Cpl. William Taylor Wild IV left for training in California he stopped by The Breakfast Shoppe for some Chicken and Waffles with his brother and sister in tow. Owner Kyle Algaze said the dish wasn’t on the menu that day, but he made them especially for Taylor. Algaze said Taylor’s brother Griffin teased that Taylor always got what he wanted. That’s just one memory Algaze and The Breakfast Shoppe family is left with now that Taylor Wild is gone. Wild, 21, a Severna Park High School graduate, was among seven Marines killed during a training exercise March 18 in Nevada. “It was just a nice story that he was here and his brother joked about it,” Algaze said. “It’s a neat thing we will always remember him by.” The Wild …

What a thoughtful way to honor not just Taylor's memory but to also highlight the good works of organizations that assist those left behind. One of those is a local Crownsville non-profit, Truckin4Troops. These folks deserve all the help and recognition they can get for the stellar work they do. Breakfast Shoppe Releases Coffee Line

The Severna Park restaurant is now selling its own coffee.

If you enjoy the coffee served at The Breakfast Shoppe, there’s good news—you can now have it at home, too. The local restaurant has released its own line of coffee. In the past, The Breakfast Shoppe has served City Dock coffee but owner Kyle Algaze said they wanted to come up with something unique. “We had the opportunity to roast our own beans and come up with our own recipe,” Algaze said. “We wanted to be able to sell our own blend where you can only get it here.” The coffee comes in refill bags, whole beans as well as decaf and is roasted locally. The coffee is only available at The Breakfast Shoppe and costs $11.95 a bag. “We really wanted something that was specific to our business,” Algaze said. “We’re excited to have it.” Let Patch…

The town of Severna Park is full of local businesses that provide great services for the community. In order to get a better sense of the owners and managers behind the businesses, Patch is introducing a new column. Severna Park Patch will talk with local business owners about life in Severna Park and how they got their start. This week Patch spoke with The Breakfast Shoppe owner Kyle Algaze. Breakfast Shoppe Owner Cooks Up Purple Treats

Kyle Algaze cooked some Ravens-centric food on WBAL-TV Saturday morning.

Breakfast Shoppe owner Kyle Algaze cooked up some Baltimore Ravens dishes on WBAL-TV Saturday morning. Algaze made his Black, Blue and Purple Belgian Waffles on the air. The waffles feature black, red and blue berries and are perfect for a Ravens football game-day morning. Algaze also showed a simpler dish to make—a fruit and yogurt parfait. This dish featured vanilla yogurt, granola and fruit. While on the air, Algaze also mentioned The Breakfast Shoppe’s giant sandwich fundraiser for an Elkridge girl who is recovering from a brain tumor.
