An Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman said the store was evacuated for a fire alarm and not an emergency.
Customers hoping to get some holiday shopping done at Kohl's on Thursday afternoon had a slight interruption. The store was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton said shoppers were evacuated because the fire alarm was going off. While there was not an emergency at Kohl's many people have been on edge since the shooting in Newtown, CT, on Friday. Anne Arundel County Public Schools hosted a news conference on Wednesday to discuss rumors of school shootings in the county, which were all unfounded, according to police. The department store is looking to hire more workers for the Christmas season.
Looking for a job so you have some extra money around Christmas time? Kohl’s could help you with that. According to the Maryland Gazette, Kohl’s in Severna Park and other Kohl’s department stores in the county, are looking to hire seasonal help. Nationwide the department store is looking to hire 52,700 people during the holiday rush. On Tuesday, Patch reported that GameStop in Severna Park is also looking to hire seasonal workers.
