The festival was held on May 4 to raise money for the Morgan Beverly Suicide Prevention Foundation.
Split Ends Salon raised $2,300 for suicide prevention on May 4 with its inaugural Morgan Beverly Festival. The event featured raffles, activities for kids and business vendors in an effort to raise money for the Morgan Beverly Suicide Prevention Foundation. Split Ends co-owner Jennifer Hardison said the festival was very successful and the salon plans to do it again next year. The founder of the Morgan Beverly Foundation is a Split Ends customer whose story had touched Hardison and the salon’s staff. The local salon will host the Morgan Beverly Festival on May 4.
Split Ends Salon is shedding some light on the dark issue of suicide with its Morgan Beverly Festival on May 4. The outdoor festival that they hope to hold annually will benefit the Morgan Beverly Suicide Prevention Foundation, the founder of which is a Split Ends customer. The Severna Park business was overwhelmingly voted best hair salon in Patch’s Readers’ Choice 2012.
Split Ends Salon co-owner Jennifer Hardison left her 9-to-5 job working PR for the Orioles in 2000, and decided to open a hair salon with her sister—something she had no background doing. Twelve years later, Split Ends is one of the most popular hair salons in Severna Park. “I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I just thought it sounded like fun. I have always been a risk taker,” Hardison said. “My mom thought I was crazy. She thought we were crazy.” Split Ends Salon opened in February 2000 and was overwhelmingly voted best hair salon in Severna Park Patch’s Readers’ Choice in 2012. Hardison said that while she was excited about the honor, she is just grateful the customers enjoy coming to Split Ends as much as she enjoys …
