The building was supposed to be finished on March 15, but repairs to the floors have caused some delays.
Those eager to get look at the remodeled Holy Grounds at the Severna Park Community Center have had to wait a little longer than expected. The $15,000 in renovations, being done by Home Depot, have been delayed due a variety of reasons and because the floor was in need of more work. “There was just so much that needed to be sanded and prepped and painted,” said Executive Director Jennie Boden. “The details around the very high windows were a lot of work.” Along with the painting, Home Depot is also sanding the floors and adding a light stain to make them look brighter and newer. The new Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) Director spent more than 20 years working for nonprofits at the national level. On Aug. 27, she took over as executive director for the center. “I have worked at a national sector for over 20 years but there is something about wanting to make life better for neighbors and friends that is special to me,” Boden said. The SPCC consists of two pools, a recreation pool and a heated therapy pool. The aquatics section used to be managed by another organization but the center recently acquired the entire aquatics department, which led …
