Sport Clips Moves to New Location in SP
There are now two barber shops in the same shopping strip next to Park Plaza.
Sport Clips, specializing in men's and boys' haircuts, reopened Thursday at its new location, at 580 Ritchie Highway, in the former Tasti-d-Lite location. Sport Clips, a franchise, was previously located in a small shopping center next to Brian Boru Restaurant and Pub, where the parking was limited. That's one of the things that prompted the move, said Sport Clips manager Austina McConnell. "It's more convenient for our clients," she said. "Our clients wanted us to move." Located two doors down is the Olde Tyme Barber Shop, owned by Brian Mears, who has been at the location for 15 years. It seems Park Plaza has had such turn over over the years I would think the mgmt company may be part of the issue for all those business. A non-compete clause is often standard and shows the lack of loyalty to long standing business. Maybe a fresh seafood store would be a nice new addition!   more ›
