One of the more popular stories on Severna Park Patch last week was a photo gallery of a controversial fenced-in property alongside Ritchie Highway. The site is often used to sell flowers and Christmas trees, but right now it is not being operated and instead is used to house used furniture. In January, the property's owner Donna Marsh was issued a citation for operating a flea market on the land in violation of county zoning laws. When this spot on Ritchie Highway isn't operating as a roadside flower stand or pumpkin patch, it's mostly used to store old furniture. What would you like to see happen to this plot of land? There's a chain-link fence along Ritchie Highway between Arnold and Severna Park. If you've driven along the roadway, you really can't miss it. It's operated seasonally by property owner Donna Marsh, according to The Capital. But when not in use, it houses old wares and old furniture. In January, Marsh was issued a citation for operating an outdoor flea market on the property in violation of local zoning laws, according to online court records. Connect with the Severna Park organization that keeps giving away flea market finds and so much more.
Greg and Sheri Anderson, the Severna Park couple that own the Restorations and Salvations Thrift Store (“ReSal”) in Pasadena, have expanded their Free Family Flea Market. Weather permitting, the event is held one Friday a month and is a chance to give away items to the public for free. This time, ReSal added an additional Free Flea last Saturday. The Andersons reported that there were over 500 participants this time, making Saturday’s Free Flea the largest in ReSal history. Sheri Anderson said, “This was amazing, there were already people lining up well before 9 o’clock.” Greg Anderson was also excited about the event. “Many awesome things are happening today, it’s been a great day,” Anderson said.
