Sound Off: What Businesses Should Fill Robinson Crossing?

Severna Park Patch readers spoke up on what businesses they would like to see come to Robinson Crossing.

A few weeks ago, Severna Park Patch asked readers what businesses they would like to see fill two vacant storefronts in Robinson Crossing. Inside the Robinson Crossing shopping center, next to the Dollar Tree, are two vacant spaces side-by-side. One of the empty storefronts was once home to Fantastic Sam's hair salon, which closed its doors in the fall. Readers commented on Patch's article on its Facebook Page about some of the businesses they would like to see in Severna Park. Here's a roundup of what they had to say. Of the businesses suggested, which one would you most like to see in Severna Park? Tell us in the comments.

Visions for Vacancies: Robinson Crossing

There are two empty storefronts in the Robinson Crossing shopping center. What businesses would you like to see come to Severna Park?

Inside the Robinson Crossing shopping center, next to the Dollar Tree, are two vacant spaces side-by-side. One of the empty storefronts was once home to Fantastic Sam's hair salon, which closed its doors in the fall. The closing left two empty businesses right next to each other. As empty storefronts emerge in Severna Park, Patch likes to highlight them to see what readers would like to see fill the properties. This particular location is interesting since it's two empty spaces right next to each other. What do you think should be done with the empty property? Would you like to see another hair salon? Or a different business entirely. Tell us in the comments. See Also:

An old-fashioned candy shop with a counter, milk shakes, etc., maybe simple sandwiches, baked goods and NY Style bagels. Great for big kids after school, and families and nostalgic adults.   more ›

Fantastic Sams in Severna Park Closes

The stylists have all moved to different locations in the area.

The Fantastic Sams hair salon in Severna Park has closed its doors for business and signs on the door indicate the stylists have all moved to new locations. The note on the door of the salon, located in Robinson Crossing on Ritchie Highway, reads, “We are sorry of the inconvenience but Fantastic Sams has closed this location.” There is also a failure to pay rent notice on the door. Ann Adams, a former stylist at Fantastic Sams, said the location had financial troubles. A call to Fantastic Sams President Robert Szymanski was not returned. Adams now works at Aura Salon on Benfield Road; she said some of her former co-workers have also moved:

Ann has been cutting my hair since I was little, as well as my Mother's. I am sad to see her move, but will definitely be following her to her new salon. She is amazing. She also cuts my two boys' hair.   more ›
