Victoria's Fancy Foods Announces Chocolate Olympics Winners

Michelle Lyon's chocolate caramel cheesecake received a gold medal in the fourth annual Chocolate Olympics.

After crafting recipes and carefully preparing their selected desserts, contestants for the fourth annual Chocolate Olympics at Victoria's Fancy Foods offered up their samples and a winner was crowned. The winner and gold medal recipient of this year's Chocolate Olympics is Michelle Lyon, who made a chocolate caramel cheesecake. The event featured nine contestants who each made a chocolate treat. Those who attended the event were given the opportunity to try the desserts and then vote for their favorite. Art Allison received a silver medal for his sacher cake trifle and Tara Benson won bronze with her flourless chocolate cake. Benson also won honorable mention for best presentation. Victoria's Fancy Foods Hosts Chocolate Olympics Saturday

The annual event will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.

Chocolate lovers get ready—Victoria's Fancy Foods will host its annual Chocolate Olympics on Saturday. The event features nine different contestants who will each make a chocolate treat. Those who attend the event are given the opportunity to try the desserts and then vote for their favorite. The contestant with the most votes will be crowned the winner. This is the fourth annual Chocolate Olympics, and Victoria's Fancy Foods owner Victoria Stagmer told Patch the event is always popular. “It’s fun just because of the uniqueness of it,” Stagmer told Patch in January. “In the middle of the winter there is nothing to do and everybody has cabin fever. The annual chocolate contest will be held on Feb. 9.

Victoria’s Fancy Foods has announced its contestants for the upcoming Chocolate Olympics. The fourth annual Chocolate Olympics, traditionally held the Saturday before Valentine’s Day, will take place on Feb. 9. On Tuesday, owner Victoria Stagmer released the names of the contestants. Each contestant is assigned a country to represent for the event; however, Stagmer said the chocolate dessert they create doesn’t have to be associated with that country. The official contestants for the Fourth Annual Chocolate Olympics are as follows: The contestants all volunteered for the endeavor and were picked on a first-come, first-serve basis. Calling all chocolate makers, lovers and enthusiasts. Victoria’s Fancy Foods is seeking constants for its annual Chocolate Olympics. The fourth annual Chocolate Olympics, held the Saturday before Valentine’s Day, will take place on Feb. 9 and owner Victoria Stagmer is looking for contestants willing to cook up their favorite chocolate recipes. “The whole thing is just an amazing amount of fun and the whole room is full of chocolate,” Stagmer said. For the contest, Stagmer is looking for eight amateur chefs willing to cook up a chocolate dessert, give out their recipe and provide 100 samples. A Baker's Delight: Store Announces Chocolate Olympics Winners

More than 170 people voted for their favorite chocolate recipe at Victoria's Fancy Foods in Severna Park on Saturday.

There's nothing better on Valentine's Day than to recognize local bakers who created chocolate masterpieces for the annual Chocolate Olympics at Victoria's Fancy Foods on Saturday. The free tastings attracted more than 170 people to sample the 10 recipes at the shop located in the Mariner Plaza. Truffles, brownies, cookies and cakes representing 10 countries in the Olympic-themed event lined the store. Returning chocolate champion Caroline Nold, representing Canada, took the gold for the third year in a row. Chocolate Olympics at Victoria’s Fancy Foods

Chocolate recipes from different countries will be available for a free taste test at this annual Severna Park event.

Chocolate lovers won't want to miss a free taste test of recipes from around the world at the third annual Chocolate Olympics at Victoria's Fancy Foods. The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 11, when nine contestants representing different countries will compete for the gold, silver and bronze medals. Victoria Stagmer, shop owner of the shop located in the Mariner Plaza on Ritchie Highway, said the countries represented are: Monaco, Egypt, Argentina, Canada, Thailand, Mexico, Kenya, Ireland and Aruba. "All desserts are made by hand from each contestant, but do not have to be from their country, Stagmer said in an email to Patch. "The country part is to keep the games more 'Olympic,' if you will."
