The Breakfast Shoppe will give away a 0.5-carat diamond worth $1,200 to one lucky winner on Black Friday. The local restaurant is teaming with Severna Park's Mercado Jewelers to present the Black Friday Diamond Giveaway. Starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, guests who “check in” at The Breakfast Shoppe on Facebook will have a chance to reach into a bowl filled with cubic zirconium "diamonds,” said owner Kyle Algaze. “On Facebook there is a little icon when you are at a restaurant that says ‘check in here,’ so all you do is click the ‘check-in’ button and show your server,” Algaze said. “We have done the ‘check-in’ thing before and it worked well.” In with the cubic zirconium "diamonds” is one real 0.5-carat diamond worth $1,200. SPCC Will Offer Multiple Parent's Night Out

Kids can enjoy a day of supervised entertainment at the Severna Park Community Center while parents work or do some holiday shopping.

Are you looking to get some holiday shopping done on Black Friday but don’t want to drag your kids along with you? The Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) can help. Beginning Friday the community center will offer a Parent’s Night (or day) Out. You can drop your kids off for a few hours of supervised entertainment while you run some holiday errands. “We have been talking about looking into additional programs that would be a support to the community,” SPCC director Jennie Boden said. “We talked about whether or not we could do parents night out and decided it was something we could do since we had great resources to put together.” For $25 for your first child, and an additional $20 for each sibling, you can drop your kids off at the SPCC …

Local Christmas tree stands and garden centers are ready to help you deck the halls.

Black Friday was full of greenery as Diehl's Produce unloaded a tractor trailer and box truck full of spruce, fir and pine Christmas trees while the staff was busy cutting roping and setting up the display. Coming next week will be details from all area garden centers and Christmas tree stands on pricing, decorations and types of trees available. In Severna Park, there is Gary's Gardens, Homestead Gardens, and Meadow Farms Nurseries, along with tree stands on Ritchie Highway and also at the Earleigh Heights Fire Station (not run by the fire station).

Westfield Annapolis Black Friday Sales Start After Stroke of Midnight

Specials, discounts and giveaways abound for the late night party at the mall.

Black Friday is upon us and for the first time, Westfield Annapolis mall will be throwing open its doors at 12:01 a.m. Friday. To help celebrate the annual retail holiday, mall officials have a slew of contests and deals planned for those adventurous enough to brave the crowds and forgo sleep. The first 500 shoppers at 12:01 a.m. Friday to stop by the WRNR location in front of Vans, just outside of Lord & Taylor, will receive a free goody bag, including a $10 gift card from a participating store, according to a release. Secret Santas also will be roaming the mall to surprise shoppers at random with prizes and giveaways.
