Located at the American Legion Post 175 on Manhattan Beach Road, the Severna River Lions Club is an organizationMore committed to serving the community and maintaining a strong network of like-minded people. Members have worked on numerous projects throughout Severna, including pre-school and adult vision screenings, Adopt-a-Highway, handicap ramp construction and Meals on Wheels. The club holds fundraising events which it uses to fund annual scholarships to graduating seniors at Severna Park and Broadneck high schools. In addition, the Severna River Lions Club participates in the Severna Park Assistance Network, which provides food and financial assistance to those in need.

Severna Park Middle School, a National Blue Ribbon School, is located on Jumpers Hole Road and is the feeder schoolMore to Severna Park High School. The school was built in 1967; it completed its two-year renovation in 2010. The new building is a nautically themed, state-of-the-art school.

In 2010, the school introduced iTouch technology, which gives students access to content-based applications, including the Internet. A fundraiser titled Mission Possible successfully raised money to equip the new classrooms with SmartBoard technology. The principal is Sharon Morell, and the school's motto is Park Pride.
