Severna Park United Methodist Church Nursery School provides half-day programs for pre-kindergarten students 3 and 4More years of age. Extended day care is not available at this location. Programs are designed to be developmental, physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual. Curriculum includes art, music, literature, the natural and physical sciences, and community life. Classrooms are staffed with one teacher and one aide for a room of 12 children. Teachers are certified in CPR and child safety. There is a fully fenced in playground for the pre-school geared for ages 3-5. 

Admissions: Children must be age 3 or 4 prior to Sept. 1 of the year in which they wish to enroll.

Severna Park KinderCare offers day-long programs for children aged 6 weeks through pre-K, as well as before- and after-school programs for children in Kindergarten through 12 years of age. The school has its own mini-bus and is licensed to transport to and from Oak Hill and Benfield elementary schools. This is also a popular summer-school spot for elementary-age chilren.

Parents can choose additional educational programs for their children, such as Spanish, phonics and cooking class. Nutritious lunches and snacks are served, as is an early dinner for late-stay children every Monday. The center is secure and code-accessed for parents.

St. John the Evangelist Church serves the Greater Severna Park youth with an active middle and high school YouthMore Ministry. Many opportunities exist for area teens to become involved in the church and community while having fun and making new friends. The church offers bowling, bingo, dances, trips, pizza parties and other activities designed for the middle school age group. The high school youth group is open to all teens in grades 9 through 12 and meets almost every Sunday. This group's program also involves a six-week seminar series that brings parents and teens together for discussions, small group talks, videos and more. Confirmation is available for eighth graders.

The qualified pool staff provides certifications for scuba diving; swimming lessons; and offers a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Training program.The swimming pool is a hub of activity year round with a variety of family-oriented fun programs for ages six months and up. Passes are available for all of the programs, including the warm therapy pool. There is a  weight room featuring new treadmills, an elliptical machine and a recumbant bike.  The pool can also be rented out for birthday parties and other community or school gatherings.
