Severna Park Woman Receives Hospice Award

Carol Bailey of Severna Park was presented with the Spirit of Hospice award at a volunteer recognition luncheon.

Carol Bailey of Severna Park was among other volunteers honored for their work with the Hospice of the Chesapeake at the annual volunteer recognition luncheon on Sunday in Annapolis. 

More than 170 volunteers and staff celebrated National Volunteer Week (April 15-21) at the luncheon where volunteers were recognized with service awards.

Bailey and Patricia Padgett of Bowie received the Spirit of Hospice award, inaugurated in 2007 to acknowledge the commitment of non-patient care volunteers, according to a press release.

Nominations for this award are made by Hospice of the Chesapeake staff and the recipient is selected based on the exemplary and extraordinary care they provide to Hospice of the Chesapeake’s patients, according to the release.
