Serving People Across Neighborhoods (SPAN) News

SPAN will be collecting nonperishable food at the Fourth of July parade.

Submitted by SPAN:

friends and family gathered together recently to celebrate the 21st anniversary of SPAN and recognize our volunteers.

For years, SPAN has been able to help others because of the outstanding support we have in our communities. Our volunteers, from the Board of Directors to the interviewers and pantry workers, donors and special programs volunteers, and without them, SPAN would not be able to keep our door open and help our neighbors in need.

Our volunteers are reassuring and nurturing and work extensively to get a full understanding of the client’s problem.  Every day SPAN volunteers deal with many unique and sometimes overwhelming challenges, but they never falter, they never give up. Because of our volunteers, we do MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVERYDAY!

SPAN Collecting Food at Fourth of July Parade

With the summer months upon us and the children out of school, our clients face another problem - grocery bills, which are exorbitant in the summer with the children at home.

For those in need, this means trouble feeding the children. For SPAN, we see a greater demand during summer and lower food supplies. We are restocking for the summer and you can help.

The andyouth groups will be walking in the parade on the Fourh of July collecting food and cash or gift card donations. When coming to this fantastic event, please do not forget your donations.

Food Drives at Summer Camps

SPAN is also reaching out to all summer camps and Vacation Bible Schools and organizational gatherings, to help restock our shelves by coordinating food collections. If your organization can help, please call 410-647-0889 or email spanhelps@yahoo.com for more information and a list of items needed.

SAVE THE DATE

The public is invited to join us for SPAN’s first annual “SPRINT FOR SPAN” on Oct. 1. Bring the family to Kinder Farm Park to run, walk, hop or skip to benefit SPAN.
