PHOTO: Severna Park Scouts Raise 1812 Flag

A local Boy Scout Troop raised the commemorative 1812 flag on Thursday morning.

In honor of Flag Day, Boy Scout Troop 129 of Severna Park raised the commemorative 1812 flag with County Executive John R. Leopold on Thursday morning, according to a press release.

Flags also were raised at the Arundel Center, the circuit courthouse in Annapolis, the Heritage Office Complex and Police and Fire Department headquarters, according to the release.

The flag has 15 stars and 15 stripes, which represent the original 13 states plus Maine and Kentucky.
