Canteen Night at Giant Food Store

The Severna Park grocery store is participating in the USO of Metropolitan Washington to support service members with care packages available for purchase.

The was among others in the region who partnered with the USO of Metropolitan Washington by hosting a 1940s-themed Canteen Night at the store on March 16. The event had a World War II era theme and featured music, coffee and doughnuts for Giant associates, customers and USO volunteers, according to a press release.

That evening at the Severna Park Giant, customers could purchase care packages for service members or make monetary donations at the event to support USO-Metro programs. Throughout the remainder of March, customers can continue to support military families at all 173 Giant stores by purchasing CareOne care packages for $5 or donating at registers, according to the release.

The month-long March giving campaign to support USO-Metro allows Giant customers to purchase CareOne Care Packages for service members or make monetary donations at the register to support USO-Metro program.

According to the release, USO-Metro is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization chartered by Congress, and dedicated to “serving those who serve, and their families” in Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.
