Moran Insurance Facebook 'Likes' Bring $500 to Hospice

The Severna Park insurance company held a social networking campaign to benefit the Hospice of the Chesapeake.

of Severna Park recently donated $500 to the Hospice of the Chesapeake in response to their original Facebook “likes” campaign, according to a news announcement by the Hospice of the Chesapeake. 

In the fall of 2011, Moran Insurance issued its first challenge to their clients and the community that would also represent the first social networking campaign to benefit the Hospice of the Chesapeake.

Moran Insurance committed to donate $500 to benefit the patients and families once they received 500 “likes” on their Facebook page, which they achieved during the 2011 holiday season.

“We are very excited to take this first step into raising money through social networking outlets such as Facebook with generous partners like Marc Dorman and Matt Lehmann of Moran Insurance,” said Michael McHale, president and CEO of the Hospice of the Chesapeake, in a news announcement.  

“They represent a new audience of young successful business leaders who also have a focus on giving to our community and we are proud to count them as part of the Hospice of the Chesapeake family.”

In the news announcement, Marc Dorman, president of Moran Insurance, said the company was impressed by the care Hospice of the Chesapeake provides patients and their families.

“At Moran Insurance, we believe success comes from a vibrant community which includes critically important nonprofit organizations such as Hospice of the Chesapeake,” Dorman said in the news announcement. Our team is honored to make a donation that will ensure their ability to continue to provide that care to all who need their services.”
