Firefighters Deliver Easter Baskets to SPAN

Anne Arundel County professional firefighters donated meals and Easter baskets to families in need through Serving People Across Neighborhoods on Monday.

There was a fire truck parked behind (SPAN) on Monday, just before lunchtime. Professional county firefighters and battalion chiefs donated their time and money to provide food and Easter baskets to help county families in need through SPAN.

Organized by Lisa Mayers, battalion chief, this is the first time the county Professional Firefighters Association and the Battalion Chief Association have done a drive for SPAN.

"We had an overwhelming response," said Mayers of the donations. "Some donated food, others shopped, some donated money," she said.
