Easter Bunny Pays a Visit to Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Station

Families from the Greater Severna Park area spend lunchtime on Sunday visiting with the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny may be busy preparing for basket deliveries this time of year but he wouldn't miss the annual Lunch with the Easter Bunny at the (EHVFS). He was escorted into the hall at the station shortly after noon on Sunday and quickly began greeting his fans as they sat on his lap for a quick hello.

To add to the fun, there were craft activities, raffles for baskets and pick-an-egg for a prize by the EHVFS Ladies Auxiliary along with hot dogs and refreshments.

Grandmother Linda Gunther accompanied her granddaughter Mahala to the event. "I enjoy every bit of it," said Gunther, who will be hosting Easter for her family this year.

Pat Sohn, of the Ladies Auxillery and organizer of the event, estimates that about 150 children sat with the Easter Bunny this year. "It's just fun, I like doing it for the kids," she said. All of the proceeds benefit the station. "It gets better every year—this is community relations, I'm very pleased."

A new fundraiser, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary, is planned for Halloween, said Sohn, with plans underway for a Kid's Halloween Bingo, costume contest, prizes, haunted lab and crafts on Oct. 30—time to be determined.
