Earleigh Heights Fire Company Seeks Volunteers

The Asbury Church Assistance Network in Arnold is also seeking volunteers.

Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company
The volunteer fire company seeks volunteers, age 16 and up, to serve as fire fighters and EMTs, to help with fundraising, event planning, safety education, facilities supervision and planning, website design and maintenance, clerical support, long range and strategic planning, public relations and marketing, grant writing, and business administration. 

No experience is needed for volunteers desiring to serve as firefighters and EMTs as firefighting/EMS training will be furnished.  In addition, ladies auxiliary members are being sought to help with fundraising, public relations, catering for events such as weddings, parties, and company outings.  For more information, contact 410-647-3119 or E-mail info12@ehvfc.org.  Web site: www.ehvfc.org

Asbury Church Assistance Network (ACAN
ACAN is a non-profit organization that provides food/toiletries, and/or financial assistance toward court-ordered eviction notices or utility cut-off notices in Anne Arundel County.

Volunteer Claims Analysts and Intake Personnel are needed who are high school graduates with at least two years of customer service experience. Volunteer Inventory Personnel with at least two years of high school education are also needed. Candidates must be computer literate and have excellent communication and customer service skills. Hours are flexible, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Monday-Wednesday, but extension of hours is possible. Training is available. For information, contact asbury.acan@gmail.com or 410-647-7667.

Literacy tutors are needed for combating adult illiteracy; after completing training, volunteers make their own schedule and locations with assigned student or can tutor at local detention centers. For information call the office at 410-269-4419. 

 The tutor training sessions will be held at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. Registrants must attend one of the September sessions and the follow-up October session. There will be a $45 donation request which covers the cost of books and materials the tutors receive.
