The Power of Pumpkin

Linus was on to something when he waited patiently year after year for the Great Pumpkin to appear on Halloween. He must have known then, that not only are pumpkins great for pies and carving scary Jack O' Lantern's but that they are amazing for your skin. Pumpkin is packed full of AHA's and fruit enzymes that dissolve dead skin and promote cell turnover. This creates brighter, smoother, younger looking skin. Knowing this I would have waited with Linus too!

Pumpkin is great for all types of skin. But it is fantastic on skin that has been damaged by the sun and for those who suffer from Acne. So for you sun Goddess's out there pumpkin has great antioxidants including vitamin A. This softens and soothes the skin while boosting collagen production to help prevent further signs of aging. It also has a healthy dose of vitamin C which combats free radicals which in turn helps to even the skin tone. For the unlucky among us that have a pretty little glass jar of eye cream next to the tube of zit cream you will love what pumpkin can do for you!! The active enzymes in pumpkin literally eat the dead skin cells that are clogging your pores. This keeps those pores clear. That isn't even the best part, it also contains vitamin E and torulitine which have anti-inflammatory properties helping to reduce pore size and they help control oil production. So pumpkin then prevents future breakouts as well!

So celebrate fall with pumpkin. Bake a pie, carve something scary for the porch, you can even catapult one across a field if that's your thing. But this year do your skin a favor and add a pumpkin facial to the itinerary. You will be pleasantly pleased and understand the power of the pumpkin.
