Severna Park Lacrosse Players in Under Armour Tournament

Lacrosse tournament at Towson University was full of talent, including players from Severn School and Archbishop Spalding.

Even with the intense July heat and humidity of the holiday weekend, thousands of lacrosse fans from across the nation descended upon Towson University to see some of the best up and coming stars from high school play lacrosse in the 4th Annual Under Armour All-American Underclass Tournament.

The event brought teams of regional all-stars together to compete and dazzle the crowds, giving many players their first experience in front of a national crowd - and their first chance to impress coaches from elite lacrosse programs from throughout the country.

Severna Park was well represented in the tournament, with a select few coming away as members of the championship team.

Three players from Severna Park played on the Washington, D.C. girls team that won the Girl’s Championship. Alexa Kunowsky and Kelly Reese of Severn School and Christina Del Sesto of Archbishop Spalding were on the D.C. side that won the tournament. All three players saw extensive time on the field all three days, and heavily contributed to the team’s dominating success.

Archbishop Spalding’s Ryan Cochran and Conor Pequiney were on the Washington, D.C. boy’s team. Both Cochran and Pequiney provided excellent all-around play for the Washington, D.C. team, including a goal by Cochran and a goal and assist by Pequiney in the D.C. versus Baltimore game on Sunday. But their best efforts were not enough to lift the team out of the group stage.
