Severna Park Goes for State Volleyball Title Saturday

The Falcons will go after their first championship in 20 years when they face Dulaney High in College Park.

The Severna Park High volleyball team has secured a spot in the state championship game after sweeping Wooten High in the state semifinals.

The Falcons (17-2) won the Class 4A East region crown and now will face Dulaney High (20-0) for the state title Saturday afternoon in College Park.

The match is set for 2:30 p.m. at Ritchie Coliseum. Tickets are $8.

A win would give the Falcons their first state title in 20 years. Dulaney won state championships in 1999 and 2000.

In the state semifinal, Lauren Kirchenheiter led the way with 13 kills, while Kara Glynn had 11 kills and 11 digs. Glynn also had six service aces.
