LACROSSE: Playoff Bracket Set, SPHS Plays Wednesday

The Falcons boys and girls teams have a shot at the title.

The brackets for the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) state lacrosse tournaments are set, and nearly every county school has one last shot at a title.

The (SPHS) boys are seeded fourth in the Class 3A/4A East region and will play North Point on Wednesday. The Lady Falcons are seeded fifth and will play Old Mill on the same day.

Here's the rundown of every matchup involving a county team. All matches will be part of the Class 3A/4A East Region, unless otherwise noted.

BOYS

Severna Park (4) vs. North Point (13) – Wednesday.
Winner plays either Annapolis or Leonardtown on Friday.

Meade (7) vs. (10)– Wednesday.
Winner plays at Broadneck on Friday.

(6) vs. Chopticon (11). – Wednesday.
Winner plays either Huntingtown or Chesapeake on Friday.

South River (1) earned a first-round bye. The Seahawks will play on Friday against the winner of the match between Great Mills and Northern.

Broadneck (2) earned a first round bye. The Bruins will play Friday against the winner of the match between Meade and Arundel.

Glen Burnie  (5) vs. Parkville (12). (Class 3A/4A South Regional) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Howard or North County on Friday.

Annapolis (12) at Leonardtown (5) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Severna Park or North Point Friday.

North County (13) at Howard (4)(Class 3A/4A South Regional) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Glen Burnie or Parkville Friday.

Chesapeake (14) at Huntingtown (3) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Old Mill or Chopticon Friday.

Northeast (6) vs. Long Reach (11) (Class 2A/3A South Regional) - Wednesday.
Winner plays Atholton on Friday.

GIRLS

Old Mill (12) at Severna Park (5) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Huntingtown or Northern on Friday.

Arundel (9) at Great Mills (8) – Wednesday.
Winner plays at South River Friday.

South River (1) earned a first-round bye. The Seahawks will play Friday against the winner of the match between Arundel and Great Mills.

Annapolis (3) earned a first-round bye. The Panthers will play Friday against the winner of the match between Broadneck and North Point.

Broadneck (6) vs. North Point (11). Wednesday.
Winner plays Annapolis on Friday.

Chesapeake (7) vs. Meade (10). – Wednesday.
Winner plays Leonardtown on Friday.

North County (9) at Bel Air (10) – (Class 3A/4A South Regional). Wednesday.

Glen Burnie (10) at Western (7) – (Class 3A/4A South Regional) Wednesday.
Winner plays Poly on Friday.

Northeast (4) earned a bye in the first round of the Class 2A/3A South Regional. The team will play at Queen Anne’s on Friday.
