Former SPHS Volleyball Coach Takes Over at Washington College

Jamie Leventry coached the Severna Park High volleyball team from 2005 to 2009.

A former Severna Park High School volleyball coach has been named the head coach of the Washington College volleyball team.

Jamie Leventry will take over the reigns for the Shorewomen on July 1. He has served as the school's associate head volleyball coach since last summer and also coaches the school's softball team.

From 2005 to 2009, Leventry put together an impressive run as head volleyball coach at Severna Park High School, according to Washington College. He compiled a win-loss record of 57-13 and won the Anne Arundel County Championships in 2007 and 2009.

Under Leventry‘s guidance, two Severna Park players earned Anne Arundel County Player of the Year honors, and several others received All-Metro and All-County recognition. 

"I'd like to thank the athletic administration team for this great opportunity," Leventry said in a release. "I'm very excited to be the head volleyball coach at Washington College. I look forward to guiding the volleyball team to new heights, both within the Centennial Conference and nationally."

Former Severna Park volleyball standout Kate Liccione plays for the Washington College volleyball team. The sophomore defensive specialist played in all 27 matches for the Shorewomen in 2012. Liccione also led the team in digs for a second straight year with 325.
