Severna Park Patch: How did the team do last season? What are your expectations for this season?
Liccione: Last season we did better than we have in previous years and this year with the new freshmen additions I believe we will be able to do even better.

Severna Park Patch: You led the team in digs last season, how do you plan to improve upon that this season?
Liccione: This year I want to do better at serve/receive because I know that, not only me, but all volleyball players struggle with passing.

Severna Park Patch: How did playing volleyball at Severna Park High School prepare you for volleyball at the college level?
Liccione: Playing volleyball helped me experience different ranges of play, some teams were very good and others not so much. My coach in high school is now one of the coaches at WAC and he has always known how to coach me well.

Severna Park Patch: What is your favorite memory from playing volleyball at Severna Park High School?
Liccione: My favorite memory about playing at SPHS had to be growing as a player with all the same girls. We all knew each other since freshman year and were better about playing together because we respected each other and knew what to expect from each other.

Severna Park Patch: What’s your major and what do you want to do after college?
Liccione: Right now my major is Biology and so far I like it a lot because science has always interested me. In the future I hope to become a physical therapist that specializes in athletics.

Severna Park Patch: What advice would you give to someone looking to play college volleyball?
Liccione: The best advice I can give to incoming freshman who want to play any collegiate sport, not just volleyball, would be they need to be good at balancing academics and athletics. Especially the first year of school you have to become very skilled at time management in order to maintain good grades and be on top of everything.
