BASKETBALL: Falcons Fall to Undefeated Arundel

The Severna Park High School boys basketball team fell to the Arundel Wildcats 61-50 Monday night.

The Severna Park High boys basketball team fell to county foe Arundel 61-50 Monday night. However, the Falcons were led by Taylor Kitzmiller's 24-point performance.

Kitzmiller led all scorers and drained five three-pointers in the matchup but it wasn't enough as the Falcons came up short against Arundel. Senior Wildcat guard Austin Carroll led Arundel with 18 points on the night.

The Wildcats used a strong inside game and stingy defense to outlast Severna Park and move to 9-1 on the season. Arundel is now 5-0 against county opponents.

Arundel led 14-7 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 14 midway through the third quarter. Severna Park rallied to cut the lead to 8, but Arundel grabbed momentum back in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter after Carroll stole the ball and scored on an easy layup. 

Kordell Wells scored 11 points for Arundel, while Marcus Olphant had 13.

Ballard Powers Arundel Girls 

The Lady Wildcats moved to 6-3 with a 54-44 win over the Falcons, and are now 5-0 in county play. 

Hannah Carroll had 16 points for Severna Park.
