Anne Arundel County Football Power Poll - Week 8

With just a few weeks left in the regular season, Patch.com brings you its Anne Arundel County public school power poll.

1.) Old Mill (7-0) The Patriots furthered their perfect county record on Saturday with a 55-0 drubbing of Annapolis High. With three games left in the regular season, Old Mill looks primed for a county championship. A week 10 match up versus South River appears to be the Patriots biggest road block between them and a perfect regular-season record.

2.) Arundel (6-1) After last week's disappointing first loss to Old Mill, . It wasn't all smooth sailing for Arundel, who held off a late charge from the Bruins. Junior wide receiver Hunter Cetrone highlighted Arundel's pass-happy attack, hauling in 181 receiving yards in the win. in the loss.

3.) Severna Park (5-2) The Falcons continue to quietly have one of the county's better seasons after defeating Chesapeake 47-16. Running back Calvin Green ran for 138 yards and a score in the win. Severna Park, who held a three-point lead at half time, outscored the Cougars 28-0 in the second half. They will travel to play Arundel Friday in game with significant playoff ramifications. It's also Arundel's homecoming.

4.) Meade (4-3) Derrick Souder filled in for the injured Calvinaugh Jones, and the Mustangs didn't miss a beat against Northeast High, winning 35-21. Souder wracked up 127 yards on the ground and two touchdowns on just seven carries on Friday. Jones, who left with an ankle injury, still managed to rush for 170 yards before having to sit out. Meade is still in the hunt for a playoff spot in the 4A East region.

5.) South River (4-3) South River dropped a surprising 50-32 decision to Glen Burnie on Friday. . The Seahawks ruined an impressive display by junior running back Lavon Chaney, who rushed for 192 yards and five scores in the loss. With an Old Mill match up looming in week 10, South River's path to the playoffs will not be an easy one.
