Meade Mustangs defeat SP Falcons Friday night
The 3-1 Meade Mustangs came into Severna Park to take on the 3-1 SP Falcons in Varsity football action. Meade wins the contest 30-0 on a very strong passing game and durable running game. Meade's only loss this year was to a very strong Old Mill team.
Homecoming evening started off very warm, more reminiscent of a early September game than one played in October. Key injuries to the starting Offense showed as the Falcons had difficulty moving the ball against a very strong Meade Defense.
The Falcons Defense hung in there and stopped Meade several times during the night, but it was on a 3rd down and long, where the Meade QB threw a 35 yard TD to strike early in the 1st quarter for the score. Bad field position haunted the Falcons all night as a bumbled snap, had Falcons and Mustangs scrambling for the ball in the Falcon end-zone and out for a Meade 2-pt safety.
Score at the Half was 23-0.
Falcons (3-2) travel to Glen Burnie next week to take on the (1-4) Gophers who lost 40-0 to Chesapeake. At home or away come on out and support the Falcons. $5.00 is the best money spent on a evening out. And it supports our local athletes.
