1. Dismissed Lacrosse Players Appeal Coach's Decision After House Party
Some Severna Park varsity lacrosse players, who were kicked off the team after they attended a party last month where alcohol was served, are now appealing the dismissal. The three teens—along with 19 others—were issued underage drinking citations at a March 23 house party at a Severna Park home.

The Marine Corps hosted a ceremony in North Carolina on Tuesday to honor Lance Cpl. William Taylor Wild IV and the six other Marines killed in the training accident in Nevada on March 18. At the ceremony, Lance Cpl. Levi Herring, who served with Wild, gave a eulogy.

3. Split Ends Raises Funds for Suicide Prevention
Split Ends Salon is shedding some light on the dark issue of suicide with its Beverly Festival on May 4. The outdoor festival will benefit the Morgan Beverly Suicide Prevention Foundation, the founder of which is a Split Ends customer.

Local runners rallied at Spark Running on Monday evening to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. They also raised $1,760 in the process.

Severna Park High School received high marks in a national survey of the best high schools by US News. The school placed 213th nationally and eighth in Maryland in US News' report.
