Severna Park Middle Sends Team to Frigid Friday

Severna Park Middle School teachers and students will take the plunge for Special Olympics later this month.

A team of 40 (SPMS) students and teachers will join thousands of other students from across Maryland at the second annual Frigid Friday Cool Schools Plunge at noon on Jan. 27.

It's part of the 16th annual Polar Bear Plunge taking place on Jan. 28 at .

The event raises money for the Maryland Special Olympics and the team has set a goal of raising $3,000 for the nonprofit, according to Patty Lewis and Carolyn Chew, Student Government Association sponsors.
