SPHS Swim Teams Finish in Top 15 at States

The Severna Park High girls swim team came in 14th place at the state championship on Saturday.

The Severna Park High girls and boys swim team capped its season Saturday at the state competition.

The girls team finished in 14th place while the boys came in 15th at the Class 4A state swimming championships held at the University of Maryland, College Park on Saturday.

Head coach Mike McTammany said two swimmers on the boys team finished in the top 10 in their respective events. Kevin Huntley placed fourth in the 200-meter IM and Bennett Bean came in sixth place in the 100-meter freestyle.

McTammany also said both the girls and boys relay teams finished in the top 10. The girls placed in the medley relay while the boys placed in the 400-meter freestyle relay.
